Ramond F Ingle died peacefully in Auburn, Washington on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the age of 87 after battling bladder cancer for 14 months. He was born on January 12, 1933 in Grafton, ND to Wellington and Kay Ingle. After graduating from Grafton High School 1951, he married Dorothy Koehnke on April 22, 1956 in Cornelius, Oregon. They moved several times, living in Oregon, Idaho, and Washington. Over the years, the couple welcomed three children into their home, David, Gunner, and Rae Ann. Ray’s family remembers him as a caring father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was loving, honest, and always willing to help.
Beginning in 1954, Ray worked as a Steward for West Coast Airlines. In 1962 he became a pilot, and through the years flew the DC-3. F-27, and B-727. He continued flying as an airline pilot until he retired at Northwest Airlines in 1988 as DC-9 Captain. His sons David and Gunner followed in his footsteps and also work as pilots always prioritized family and also enjoyed aviation, golf, racing, and basketball. Ray is survived by his children David, Gunner (Teresa), Rae Ann (Stephen); grandchildren Stephanie, Sarah, Emily, Samantha, and Faith; great-grandchildren Adam and Emmet; and brother Duane. He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy who died on October 15, 2003.
A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery with a reception to follow at Auburn Golf Course, Bogey’s Public House (lunch will be served).
