Hansen, John R. (Age 77). Passed away on December 6, 2016. John was born on November 10th, 1939 to Olaf and Florence Fallquist Hansen. John grew up in the Millwood area and graduated from West Valley High School in 1957. While attending Spokane Community College, he was hired in February 1960 for West Coast Airlines and graduated with a degree in Airframe and Powerplant. On April 24th, 1965 he married the love of his life Patricia (Patty) Plese. John’s career in the airline industry took him from Spokane to Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Minneapolis/St. Paul and finally to Seattle where he retired in 2000. John spent many evenings, weekends and holidays working. He and Patty enjoyed their home on the river in Post Falls, Idaho and being snowbirds in Surprise, Arizona. John loved to fish in Tillamook/Garibaldi Oregon, boating, growing tomatoes and golfing. After Patty passed away in 2007, John returned to being a snowbird in Mesa, Arizona near his brother and sister-in-law, David and Amber Hansen. John’s sidekick Penny the poodle kept him busy and entertained. John is survived by his daughter’s Christine Campanella and Melissa Meyer (Skip), his brother David Hansen (Amber), 5 grandchildren Jordan Brooks, Ciera Durbin (Tyson), Lyndsey Meyer, Lauren Campanella, Joey Campanella and two great-grandchildren Gabriel and Teagan Durbin. John was a loving husband and father. He will be missed dearly, but now is in God’s hands.
