Eulas Eugene “Gene” Fisher was born on a small farm outside of Competition, Missouri on Wednesday, August 2nd of 1922 to parents William Lloyd Fisher and Martha (McClanahan) Fisher. He served in the US Navy on the USS Bunker Hill, a large aircraft carrier. Following his discharge, he worked for West Coast Airlines, which became Hughes Air West, and finally Republic Airlines where he retired as a mechanic supervisor in 1981 after 35 years. He was a long time parishioner of St. George Church on Beacon Hill. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
Gene is preceded in death by his wife Doris (Siefner). He is survived by his five children: Ranny, John (Caren), Jane, Anne (Claus), and Karen; four grandchildren: Amy (Jason), Johnathan, Joseph, and Justin; and two great grandchildren: Forrest and Ethan.
Viewing will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31st at Columbia Funeral Home with a Rosary service beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 2nd at St. George Church with a reception to follow. His remains will be interred at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3rd at St. Joseph Cemetery in Pe Ell, Washington. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Providence Hospice of Seattle.
