Dwight was born March 3, 1943 to Lloyd and Lucille Sissell in Bell, California. He passed away June 25, 2015 at home in Sedona, Arizona.
Dwight graduated from Whittier High School, (California) in 1960. He then joined The United States Army and graduated Officers Candidate School in March 1963, Fort Benning, Georgia.
He received his certificates of flying from The United States Army Aviation School and then relocated to Arizona in 1965 where he attended Arizona State University and was with The Arizona National Guard.
On May 20, 1968 he started ground school for Bonanza Airlines, achieving his dream career as a commercial airline pilot. He retired on March 3, 2003 as a 747 Captain with Northwest Airlines (Delta).
Dwight and Roxanne were married in February of 1975. Together enjoyed the great outdoors, backpacking, camping, hunting, fishing, sailboating, ranching, motorcycle riding, and competition shooting.
Dwight loved woodworking and could design and build anything. His presence with his hat and aviator glasses will be dearly missed–forever–.
