John H. “Red” Turner, 75, of Oro Valley, Arizona, passed away February 3, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lois; son John L. Turner of Detroit, Michigan; daughter Janet L. (Moe) Beal of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren Michelle, Jennifer and Lauren Turner and Zack, Cody and Amber Beal; and sister Willie Jo (Herb) Shepherd of Tucson, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. Red served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until 1954. After returning from the Navy, Red graduated from American Flyers and became a commercial pilot with Apache Airlines and continued serving as a commercial pilot until retiring from NorthWest Airlines in 1993. Red enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and raising and riding horses. A memorial service for Red will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Vistoso Memorial Chapel, 2285 E. Rancho Vistoso Blvd, Oro Valley. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
