Hubert Brady Meggs died July 20, 2007, at the age of 85, in Vancouver, WA. He was born October 10, 1921 in Vancouver and grew up in Klamath Falls, OR. He worked in the airline industry for 26 years and retired from Republic Airlines. Hubert was a part of the Greatest Generation, having served in the European Theatre during WWII. He joined the Army Air Corp, (which became the Air Force) after high school. A recipient of numerous medals and decorations, he earned two Bronze Stars during his military career. He met and married his wife of 58 years, Eva Schoen Meggs, in Vienna, Austria. Survivors include wife, Eva Meggs; sons, Gustave and Stephen Meggs; daughter, Ava-Maria Stevens; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren of Vancouver; and sister, Verna Dean Long of Klamath Falls, OR. A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm, Sunday, July 29, 2007, at Grace Baptist Church, 9400 NE 50th Ave., Vancouver, WA. He will be interred at Willamette National Cemetery.
