Walter
Brink, Jr., age 79 of Yakima
died July 1, 2004. He
was born Aug. 13, 1924 in Sawyer,
WA to Walter and Catharina (Meddens)
Brink. He was a lifelong
Yakima Valley resident and graduated
from Toppenish High School.
Walter had been employed
with Northwest Airlines for
25 years; later with Hughes
AirWest which then became Republic
Airlines. Following his
retirement with the airlines
he became self employed in the
vending machine business. He
was able to enjoy many years
of retirement enjoying hobbies
of fishing, golf, and snowmobiling.
The highlight of his fishing
was landing a Marlin which
weighed 175 lbs. caught off
the coast of Cabo SanLucas.
A cabin on Rimrock Lake
provided a wonderful retreat
year-round. Walt enjoyed
many years of golf with the
Elks Golf Club and was a member
of the Yakima Elks Lodge for
more than 40 years. The
Elks Sunchasers RV Club was
an important part of his retirement
years as well.
He
was preceded in death by his
parents, a brother John Brink,
and a sister Wilma (Wimpy) Brink.
He is survived by his
wife, Dorothy; a niece, Janet
Turner, of Cowiche and a nephew,
Robert Brink, of Yacolt, WA.
At Walts request, no services
will be held. Memorial
